Abstract
Recent contributions in the fields of Internet topology modelling (scale-free versus HOT models) and network tomography (intra- and inter-AS link/path load estimation) suggest the development of Multi-Resolution Analysis (MRA) techniques for analyzing and visualizing Internet-related measurements. The extension of the well-known, time- or space-based wavelet transform-based MRA techniques to higher-dimensional datasets and manifolds (such as a graph representing a computer network) has been recently solved by Maggioni and Coifman with the development of the so-called Diffusion Wavelets. The talk will introduce Diffusion Wavelets and its application to our problem. This work is being carried out during the stay of David Rincón in the University of Adelaide, Australia, under the supervision of Dr Matthew Roughan.
